A whole panel had been dedicated to the RE-TREAT project at the 22nd annual European Society of Criminology (ESC) conference on the 8th September 2021 Owing to the Covid 19 situation, the conference has been held on line, gathering about 800 participants virtually attending 200 sessions devoted to several dozen criminological thematic areas.
The panel dedicated to the project was entitled “The RE-TREAT EU funded project – Reshaping treatment approaches towards victims of sexual violence within criminal proceedings” and was chaired by Dr. Silvia Ciotti from EuroCrime, partner of the project. The panel included three presentations:
1 – “Criminal Justice Systems and sexual crimes in Southern Europe. The case of Greece, Italy and Spain”, presented by Sabela Oubiña, Autonomous University of Madrid, Faculty of Law, Spain, Nieves Pérez-Mata, Autonomous University of Madrid, Faculty of Psychology, Spain, Daniel Rodríguez Horcajo, Autonomous University of Madrid, Faculty of Law, Spain;
2 – “Recommendations on policy development: treatment of women victims of sexual violence in the criminal justice system”, presented by Monique Anderson and Evelien Claes, Leuven Institute of Criminology, KU Leuven, Belgium;
3 – “The RE-TREAT Training Modules for professionals. From theory to practice”, presented by Silvia Ciotti, EuroCrime.
