Second Consortium meeting of the “MARGIN Project – Tackle Insecurity in Marginalized Areas” – Florence, Italy, December 17-18th 2015

EuroCrime – Research, Training and Consulting is very glad to inform you that the second Consortium meeting of the “MARGIN Project – Tackle Insecurity in Marginalized Areas” will be held on December 17-18th 2015 in Florence, Italy. The initiative is funded by the Horizon 2020 Programme of the European Commission within the Secure Societies Challenge.

The MARGIN Project coordination activities are intended to contribute to the creation of sustainable modes of cooperation among stakeholders dealing with security issues. The project provides policy makers with evidence-based tools for developing and assessing strategies targeted at the reduction of insecurity among different demographic and socio-economic groups.

MARGIN sets up an international environment for knowledge exchange involving as partners some of the leading EU institutions in Crime Victimization Surveys (CVSs): Universitat de Barcelona (project leader, Spain), EuroCrime (Italy), National Institute of Criminology (Hungary), Institut national des hautes études de la sécurité et de la justice (France), Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca (Italy), University College London (United Kingdom), Departament d’Interior-Generalitat de Catalunya (Spain). The meeting is organized by EuroCrime and its purpose is to coordinate and monitor the whole process and to facilitate internal communication.

Have you ever heard of whistleblowing?

The STAIRS project, co-funded by the European Union, aims to develop and disseminate an innovative AI-driven Chatbot to provide whistleblowers and civil society with secure, real-time support and guidance on EU and national whistleblower protection laws (Directive EU 2019/1937).

The STAIRS project envisages the active involvement of public institutions, associations and other private entities in the abovementioned activities, in order to co-create ad shape the final tool.
