Second Consortium Meeting of the “MARGIN Project – Tackle Insecurity in Marginalized Areas” – Barcelona, Spain, 13-14 June 2016

EuroCrime informs you that the Second official Consortium Meeting of the “MARGIN Project – Tackle Insecurity in Marginalized Areas” will be held on June 13-14th 2016 in Barcelona.

The initiative was planned from the beginning of the project and it follows the Kick-Off Meeting among partners (held in Barcelona in May 2015) and the First Consortium Meeting, organized by EuroCrime in Florence in December 2015.

The Second Meeting is organized by one of the project partner (Interior Department of the Generalitat of Catolonia) and it foreseen the following discussions:
1. Financial Reporting and budgetary issues;
2. Delphi Method process – iterative design process involving 12 international experts to define a number of indicator, enabling the assessment of insecurity among different social groups: overview of results;
3. Designing the final version of the MARGIN survey, starting from the results of Delphi Method;
4. How to prepare the EC Mid-Term Review of the Project (that will take place in Barcelona in July 2016);
5. Passed and future dissemination and exploitation actions;
6. Next steps to be developed by partners.

We remember that the MARGIN project provides policy makers with evidence-based tools for developing and assessing strategies targeted at the reduction of insecurity among different demographic and socio-economic groups. MARGIN sets up an international environment for knowledge exchange involving as partners some of the leading EU institutions in Crime Victimization Surveys (CVSs): Universitat de Barcelona (project leader, Spain), EuroCrime (Italy), National Institute of Criminology (Hungary), Institut national des hautes études de la sécurité et de la justice (France), Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca (Italy), University College London (United Kingdom), Departament d’Interior-Generalitat de Catalunya (Spain).
