Within the EU project “ENCLAVE – Enhancing the capacity of legal & justice professionals on forensic interview procedures for children victims and witnesses of violence”, EuroCrime organised the online workshop “Children victims and witnesses of violence in the criminal and civil process” in partnership with the Sciacca Bar Association and with the collaboration of Psychology in Court. The three-hour free online event is aimed at promoting a conscious and multidisciplinary approach to the interview of the child victim or witness of violence and abuse during civil and criminal judicial proceedings. The course targets all legal professionals, lawyers, magistrates and bailiffs.
The workshop was designed to present the results of the ENCLAVE project and to provide all those professionals involved in forensic activities with minors victims or witnesses of violence and abuse with an overview of the needs of the children involved, their rights and the need to protect them (in particular against the risk of double victimisation), the risks to their psycho-physical well-being, the legal, regulatory and procedural requirements, the professional roles of the other involved stakeholders.
The online workshop will be held by Dr Silvia Ciotti, Clinical Criminologist and Senior Researcher of EuroCrime, and it will be held on Tuesday January 31, 2023 at 4 PM CET on the “Riconosco” Platform of the Bar Association of Sciacca with the credentials sent by the Order at the following link: https://riconosco.dcssrl.it/
