PROTASIS Project – EuroCrime partecipates to the Work Visit and the First Steering Group Meeting – 24-26th January 2017, London (UK)

EuroCrime is going to take part at the first events organized in the context of PROTASIS project.

Beyond the first official meeting among partners, the event is concentrated on the Work Visit in London: partners will have the opportunity to see in person how an effective system of individual assessment and referral to appropriate services works in practice, complementing therefore their so far knowledge of the British system. They will acquire a first-hand experience and interact with the UK police officers obtaining insights on the benefits and obstacles of the system. The sharing of good practices will then be transferred into the training of the participants in the partners’ countries, through a combination of evidence based and practical knowledge. During the work visit a number of professionals with significant experience in relevant fields will share their expertise with the partners.

The work visit will consist of the following sections:

-Introduction on the current status if the assessment and referral systems in UK
-Interactive seminar by police officer specialized in individual assessment (practical tips challenges, obstacles, best practices)
– Interactive seminar by specialized police officer on referral and signposting (practical tips for more effective interaction and referral, challenges, obstacles during referral)
– Interactive seminar by specialized police officers on communication and interaction with victims with special needs (children, sexual-domestic violence) to give practical tips from their experience as police officers (we have the theoretical background, they will share their view of their role as policemen)
-Discussion
